WooCommerce Connector
Install and configure the Checkout Security WooCommerce adapter for WooCommerce 5.0+ with HPOS compatibility.
WooCommerce connector
The checkout-security-woocommerce-adapter integrates Checkout Security's fraud engine with WooCommerce, protecting both the classic checkout and the Checkout Blocks / Store API.
Requirements
Before installing the connector, confirm that your site has the following:
- Checkout Security Core 3.0.0 or later
- WooCommerce 5.0 or later
- PHP 7.4 or later
Compatibility
The adapter supports:
- WooCommerce Classic Checkout
- WooCommerce Checkout Blocks through the Store API
- WooCommerce High-Performance Order Storage, also known as HPOS
No additional configuration is required for HPOS. The adapter detects the active WooCommerce order-storage mode automatically.
Installation
Confirm that WooCommerce is active
Ensure WooCommerce is installed and active on your WordPress site. The connector cannot register its WooCommerce integration until WooCommerce is available.
Install the core plugin
In your WordPress admin area, go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin. Upload the checkout-security plugin ZIP file, then install it.
Install the WooCommerce adapter
Use Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin again. Upload the checkout-security-woocommerce-adapter plugin ZIP file, then install it.
Activate both plugins
Activate the Checkout Security core plugin and the checkout-security-woocommerce-adapter plugin from the Plugins screen.
The core plugin must be active because it provides the fraud engine, risk evaluation, storage, logging, and shared security services. The adapter supplies the WooCommerce-specific integration.
Verify the adapter health
Open the Checkout Security dashboard. Confirm that WooCommerce appears as connected and that enforcement is active.
If WooCommerce is not connected, confirm that the core plugin, adapter, and WooCommerce are all active. Check the WordPress debug log for adapter registration errors when debugging is enabled.
What the adapter does
The adapter connects Checkout Security to WooCommerce cart, checkout, order, and session flows. It normalizes WooCommerce data through the platform-agnostic interfaces used by the core fraud engine, so shared security logic can operate consistently across supported commerce platforms.
For WooCommerce stores, the adapter enables:
- Fraud checks during checkout
- Risk evaluation when an order is created
- Trust score tracking for WooCommerce customers
- WooCommerce cart and session handling
- WooCommerce order data access for review and approval workflows
The connector loads five integration classes:
- Cart adapter
- Checkout adapter
- Order adapter
- Session adapter
- Platform adapter
The core plugin remains responsible for fraud detection, risk decisions, trust scoring, logging, and administration. The adapter translates WooCommerce-specific requests and data into the interfaces that the core expects.
HPOS compatibility
The adapter works with both legacy post-based order storage and WooCommerce HPOS table-based storage. It declares HPOS compatibility through the before_woocommerce_init hook.
No configuration is needed when you enable or disable HPOS. The adapter detects the active WooCommerce storage mode and uses the corresponding order APIs.
